is “Kingham”, approximately five miles away, with frequent, local bus
connections to Chipping Norton.
· This is a popular area for
walkers/ramblers and cyclists who love the challenge of the undulating Cotswold
Hills.
· Blenheim Palace (birthplace
of Sir Winston Churchill) is approximately eight miles away, at Woodstock. The
magnificent palace and Gardens are a treat not to be missed.
· Stratford-upon-Avon lies
twenty miles to the north, and was home to William Shakespeare, the famous poet
and writer.
· The Rollright Stones are a
local attraction, containing a circle of mystical stones. (Try counting them,
and ye shall not get the same number twice).
· Bourton-on-the-Water is a
beautiful Cotswold village, thought by some guests as a little “Venice” with
its river and bridges.
· Oxford is only some twenty
miles away, containing the seven dreaming spires, and of course, home to the
many historic colleges, which form the famous “Oxford University”.
